FBA’s first three years of operation have been
fast-paced and groundbreaking with performances
including collaborations with the New Mexico
Symphony Orchestra (The Firebird, 2010),
New Mexico Philharmonic (Peter and the Wolf,
2011-2012), and the Figueroa Project (The
Soldier’s Tale: 2012). Our first presentation
of The Nutcracker Ballet in the Land of Enchantment, a regional adaptation of a holiday classic staged in December 2011, was also performed with live symphony music under the direction of Guillermo Figueroa. Other productions included two choreographer showcases (in 2010 and 2011), Dracula, a Love Story in 2011 and Billy the Kid and Other Tales in 2012.
Dracula, A Love Story: a ballet interpretation of the classic gothic tale presented in three main stage performances at the state-of-the-art NHCC in Albuquerque, NM on October 19-21, 2012.
The Nutcracker in the Land of Enchantment: an adaptation of a holiday classic, with the First Act Party scene at the home of Don and Senora Pacheco followed by the second act journey of young Maria Pacheco through New Mexico’s enchanted forests. Live symphony music will enhance the audience experience and increase the audience size. This production will consist of five main stage performances at NHCC scheduled for December 21-23, 2012.
Coppelia and other Classics, scheduled for May 11-12, 2013 at NHCC. FBA is currently negotiating live symphony music for this program. Following the resounding success of presenting Billy the Kid in Gallup, NM, FBA is again negotiating with the historic El Morro Theatre for an additional rural stage presentation of Coppelia in Gallup in the spring of 2013.
Also included in the 2012-2013 season are performances with The Figueroa Project.
